Right. This one isn't going to make any sense unless you've heard of Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake.
Has anyone seen the Billy Elliot movie? Remember at the end when you see grown up Billy just about to get on stage? Well that's Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake. From Wiki: The ballet is based loosely on the Russian romantic ballet Swan Lake, from which it takes the music by Tchaikovsky and the broad outline of the plot. [...] The ballet is particularly known for having the parts of the swans danced by men rather than women. Yes, you read that right. And believe me, when you've seen it makes so. much. more. sense. than girls in tutus.

I have the entire ballet on DVD and I've recently become obsessed with it again, so after watching Act Two a few nights ago I suddenly had the crazy urge to try to make my own version of my favourite moment, when the Swan lets the Prince get close to him for the first time. I'm veryvery happy with the way it came out and OMG I've finally found a way to shade hair properly (although it needs improving).
I don't really understand my Muse, though. One day I just about draw a decent Ukitake but fail in an epic way when the time comes to shade him, and a few days later... this. I'll have more of this, Muse, if you don't mind.

I adore this ballet. I fist saw it about eight years ago on TV and told my mum "Oh wow, there's this new verson of Swan Lake, where all the swans are male!" My mum didn't approve, lol. But I saw it again just the other day, and it's just as beautiful.
